By Virtue of the provisions of the 10th Article of the Law numbered 5188 on Private Security Services and Regulations,
a) Being a citizen of the Republic of Turkey.
b) At least eight years of primary and middle level education for those who wish to work unarmed and at least a high school graduation or equivalent degree for those who wish to work armed.
c) Being over 18 years old.
d) Having a satisfactory result from the security investigation to be performed about them. (Even though periods mentioned in the 53rd Article of the Turkish Penal Code have passed, even though being sentenced to prison for one year or more or being pardoned for an intentionally committed crime, not being convicted of crimes against the security of the State, crimes against the constitutional order or the functioning of this order, crimes against sexual inviolability, crimes against public health, crimes of embezzlement, corruption, bribery, theft, fraud, degradation, abuse of trust, fraudulent bankruptcy, bid rigging, involvement in fraudulent act during fulfillment of obligations, absolving asset values resulting from a crime, smuggling and prostitution).
e) For those who shall execute armed duty, certifying this situation with a health report expressing that “s/he is suitable for being an armed private security guard” or “there is no disability for him/her to carry and possess firearms” issued by a general public hospital; and for those who shall execute unarmed duty, with a health report expressing that “s/he is suitable for being a private security guard”, issued by a general private or public hospital. The health report shall include the following examinations. Psychiatry: not having a psychiatric illness or personality disorder (Psychopath); alcohol or drug addiction. Neurology: Not having a neurological disorder, which prevents him/her from being a private security guard. Optometry: Not having blindness, night blindness or color blindness. Otolaryngology: Not having hearing loss preventing him/her from being a private security guard. Orthopedics: Not having advanced movement limitations in the muscle and skeletal systems.
f) Successfully completing the basic private security training.
